South African Cricket Team In New Zealand In 2021–22
The South Africa cricket team toured New Zealand in February and March 2022 to play two Test matches. The Test series formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. In September 2021, the tour dates were changed slightly due to COVID-19 quarantine requirements for travelling to New Zealand. In November 2021, New Zealand Cricket confirmed the full dates of the tour. The initial tour schedule had the second Test at the Basin Reserve. However, on 27 January 2022, New Zealand Cricket announced a change to the itinerary, with all the matches moved to the Hagley Oval. New Zealand won the first Test match inside three days, by an innings and 276 runs. In their first innings, South Africa were bowled out for 95 runs. It was the first time they had been bowled out for less than 100 runs in the first innings of a Test match since 1932. Tom Latham (cricketer)
Thomas William Maxwell Latham (born 2 April 1992) is a New Zealand international cricketer who is vice-captain of the New Zealand cricket team in Tests and ODIs. He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the highest number of centuries among the New Zealand openers in Tests. He is primarily a batsman who also plays as a wicket-keeper. Playing for Canterbury, he made his first-class cricket debut against Central Districts in 2010 in the Plunket Shield. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Sarel Erwee
Sarel Erwee (born 10 November 1989) is a South African professional cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler who plays for KwaZulu Natal. Temba Bavuma
Temba Bavuma (born 17 May 1990) is a South African international cricketer who currently is the captain of the South African cricket team in white-ball cricket. He also vice-captains South Africa in Test cricket. He is a right-handed batter and was the first black African cricketer to make a Test century for South Africa and the first to captain the side. William Alexander Young (born 22 November 1992) is a professional cricketer who plays as a batsman for the New Zealand cricket team and captains Northamptonshire. Young was captain of the New Zealand Under-19 cricket team at 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in December 2020. Neil Wagner
Neil Wagner (born 13 March 1986) is a South African-born New Zealand Test cricketer who plays for New Zealand and Northern Districts cricket teams. He played for Northerns until 2007/08 and Otago between 2008 and 2018. Timothy Grant Southee (born 11 December 1988), is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays for New Zealand cricket team in all formats of the game, captains in Tests and vice captains in T20Is.
