The Source of the Nile Bridge, also New Jinja Bridge, which was commissioned on 17 October 2018, by the President of Uganda, is a cable-stayed bridge across the Victoria Nile in Uganda. It replaced the Nalubaale Power Station, Nalubaale Bridge, which was built in 1954. Location The bridge is located at Njeru, a suburb of the city of Jinja, Uganda, Jinja across the Victoria Nile, between the source of the Nile to the south and Nalubaale Power Station (old bridge) to the north. This is adjacent and immediately north of where the Uganda Railways line crosses the Victoria Nile. Kampala–Jinja Expressway
The Kampala–Jinja Expressway, also known as the Jinja–Kampala Expressway, is a proposed four-lane toll highway in Uganda, linking Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda, with the city of Jinja in the Eastern Region of Uganda. Location The expressway will start at Nakawa, a neighborhood in Nakawa Division in the eastern part of Kampala. It is planned to go through Namanve and Mukono in Mukono District, and end at the New Jinja Bridge in Njeru. The entire expressway will be a four-lane, dual carriageway, with limited access. The Mukono–Kyetume–Katosi–Nyenga Road is a road in the Central Region of Uganda, connecting the towns of Mukono, Kyetume and Katosi in Mukono District to Nkokonjeru and Nyenga in Buikwe District. The president of the Republic of Uganda is the head of state and the head of government of Uganda. The president leads the executive branch of the government of Uganda and is the commander-in-chief of the Uganda People's Defence Force. The incumbent Yoweri Museveni came to power in 1986 and is the longest serving president of Uganda, ahead of Idi Amin who ruled from 1971 to 1979.
