Source Radio
Source Radio is a radio station operating from Coventry, England. It is a division of the Coventry University Students' Union, and broadcast to the Campus and beyond, online. It occasionally operated for short periods on FM and AM, complemented by a near CD-quality version of the output via the Internet. Known as "Source FM" from 2001 to 2005, and "Phoenix Radio" before that, the station changed its name as part of a rebrand to eliminate confusion over the fact that broadcasts on FM were very occasional, and that the station was available on other platforms. History The rebrand came about as the station rarely broadcast on FM, and with the (later-fulfilled) possibility of an AM licence on the way it was felt it was time to strengthen the brand. Coventry ( or ) is a City status in the United Kingdom, city in the West Midlands (county), West Midlands, England. It is on the River Sherbourne. Coventry University Students' Union, also known as CUSU, is the students' union for Coventry University, in Coventry, England. The Students’ Union is situated in The Hub with other facilities for sports and societies and media in another building in Priory Street, both buildings are on the main university campus; the Hub is used for students to socialise or study and is located in the heart of the city centre. The ''Coventry Telegraph'' is a local English tabloid newspaper. It was founded as ''The Midland Daily Telegraph'' in 1891 by William Isaac Iliffe, and was Coventry's first daily newspaper. Sold for half a penny, it was a four-page broadsheet newspaper. It changed its name to the ''Coventry Evening Telegraph'' on 17 November 1941. On 2 October 2006, the ''Telegraph'' simply became the ''Coventry Telegraph'', reflecting its switch to a morning publication. The newspaper became a part of the then Mirror Group (prior to its merger with Trinity to become Trinity Mirror), in 1997. In April 2022, the publication had a paid daily circulation of just over 6,183 copies. Trinity Mirror is now known as Reach plc. BBC Radio 1 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC. It specialises in modern popular music and current chart hits throughout the day.
