''Soul'' is the sixth studio album by British singer Seal, which was released on 10 November 2008. The album was produced by David Foster, and co-produced, engineered and mixed by Jochem van der Saag. It is made up of cover versions of eleven soul music classics. The album charted within the top 10 in twelve countries. In the United Kingdom, the album charted at number twelve. As of January 2012, the album had sold 419,841 copies in the UK. The album peaked at number thirteen in the United States on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart. It has since sold 547,000 copies in the US. Seal (musician)
Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (born 19 February 1963), known professionally as Seal, is a British singer. He has sold over 20 million records worldwide. These include hit songs "Crazy" and " Killer", the latter of which went to number one in the UK, and his most celebrated song, " Kiss from a Rose", which was released in 1994. Seal is renowned for his distinctive soulful singing voice. Seal has won multiple awards throughout his career, including three Brit Awards; he won Best British Male in 1992. He has also won four Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. As a songwriter, Seal received two Ivor Novello Awards for Best Song Musically and Lyrically from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors for " Killer" (1990) and "Crazy" (1991). Bernard "Bernie" Miller is the founder and Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Donald Maurice Bryant (born April 4, 1942) is an American rhythm and blues singer and songwriter. Early life Bryant was born in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, the fifth of ten children.Scott M. Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It has its roots in African-American gospel music and rhythm and blues.
