1st Street is an east–west thoroughfare in Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, and Monterey Park, California. It serves as a postal divider between north and south and is one of a few streets to run across the Los Angeles River. Boyle Heights, historically known as Paredón Blanco, is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, located east of the Los Angeles River. Regional Connector
The Regional Connector Transit Project is a transit project currently constructing a light rail tunnel for the Los Angeles Metro Rail system in Downtown Los Angeles. It is designed to connect the A Line and E Line, which currently end at 7th Street/Metro Center station, to the existing L Line and Union Station. When completed, the project will provide a one-seat ride into the core of Downtown for passengers on those lines who currently need to transfer, and it will reduce or eliminate transfers for many passengers traveling across the region via Downtown. The E Line (formerly the Expo Line from 2012–2019) is a light rail line that runs between Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. It is one of the seven lines in the Metro Rail system, and is operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). The line opened in 2012. Soto Street is a major north-south thoroughfare in Los Angeles, California, connecting the southernmost neighborhoods of the Eastside, as well as the southeastern suburbs of Vernon and Huntington Park. It was first designated and paved as an arterial road in 1927. The street has been the focus of several significant ethnic communities over the years.
