Arkadiusz Chęciński (born 5 June 1971) - mayor of Sosnowiec, Polish entrepreneur and Councilor. Memoir Arkadiusz Chęciński was born in Sosnowiec on 5 June 1971. He graduated Wyższa Szkoła Humanitas in Sosnowiec. He's associated with Civic Platform. In 2006 Chęciński unsuccessfully tried to get a City Council mandate. In next term of City Council he finally got a Councilor mandate. In 2013 he was elected to the management of Silesian Voivodeship. Dąbrowa Basin
The Dąbrowa Basin (also, Dąbrowa Coal Basin) or Zagłębie Dąbrowskie () is a geographical and historical region in southern Poland. It forms western part of Lesser Poland, though it shares some cultural and historical features with the neighbouring Upper Silesia. The region is sometimes referred to in English as Zaglembie or Zaglembia, especially in Jewish publications written in the English language. Geography Zagłębie is a highly industrialised and densely populated region of southern Lesser Poland, bordering Silesia through the Brynica river (running between Sosnowiec and Katowice). A city with powiat rights ( pl, miasto na prawach powiatu) is in Poland a designation denoting 66 of the 107 cities (the urban gminas which are governed by a city mayor or ''prezydent miasta'') which exercise also the powers and duties of a Powiat, county ( pl, powiat), thus being an independent city. Sometimes, such a city will also be referred to in Polish as city county ( pl, powiat grodzki); this term however is not official (it was used during the interwar times of the Second Polish Republic). The contemporary term ''city with powiat rights'' should not be used interchangeably with the interwar ''city county''.
