"Sorry" is a single by Jamaican singer and actress Grace Jones, released in 1976. Background "Sorry" was Jones' second single, released before her international breakthrough, on the Orfeus label in France and Beam Junction in the US. The single B-side was "That's the Trouble", which was later released as an A-side track. In certain territories the single was released as a double A-side single. Both songs later appeared on Jones' debut album ''Portfolio (Grace Jones album), Portfolio''; 7" version of "Sorry" and an alternate mix of "That's the Trouble" were placed there. Both the original single version and the instrumental of "That's the Trouble" remain unreleased on CD. Grace Jones
Grace Beverly Jones (born 19 May 1948) is a model, singer and actress. Born in Jamaica, she and her family moved to Syracuse, New York, when she was a teenager. Jones began her modelling career in New York state, then in Paris, working for fashion houses such as Yves St. Laurent and Kenzo, and appearing on the covers of '' Elle'' and ''Vogue''. ''Portfolio'' is the debut studio album by Grace Jones, released in 1977 by Island Records. It spawned her first big hit, " La Vie en rose". Background and production Having enjoyed a successful modelling career in Paris and New York in the early 1970s, Jones released a series of singles throughout 1975–1976. None of them, however, managed to succeed in mainstream charts. Jones secured a record deal with Island Records in 1977 and found wider recognition only with her debut Island album, ''Portfolio''. Thomas Jerome Moulton (, ; born November 29, 1940) is an American record producer. He experimented with remix in disco music and this led to its wide adoption as a standard practice in the industry. He also invented the breakdown section, and the 12-inch single vinyl format in the process. Life and career Moulton was born in Schenectady, New York, United States, as the oldest of five children to parents who both were jazz musicians. He worked as a model at the Bookings and Ford agencies before beginning his production career. Before that, he had worked in the music industry, first as kid working part-time in record shops, then holding a sales and promotion job at King Records (from 1959 to 1961), and similar positions at RCA and United Artists.
