Sophie Briard-Auconie
Sophie Briard-Auconie (born 19 August 1963, in Dugny) is a French politician who has been serving as Member of the National Assembly since 2017, representing Indre-et-Loire's 3rd constituency as a member of the Union of Democrats and Independents. From 2009 until 2014, she served as a Member of the European Parliament, representing the Massif Central-Centre constituency. A former member of Liberal Democracy (DL), Auconie joined the New Centre in 2008. Since 2008, she is a municipal councillor in Tours, Indre-et-Loire. The Citizens Convention for Climate is a citizens' assembly held in 2019 and 2020 which discussed reducing France's carbon emissions by 40% from its 1990 levels in a spirit of social justice. 2017 French Legislative Election
Legislative elections in France were held on 11 and 18 June 2017 (with different dates for voters overseas) to elect the 577 members of the 15th National Assembly of the Fifth Republic. The Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) is a committee of the European Parliament. It has 81 full members and is currently chaired by Pascal Canfin.
