Soor State
Idar State, also known as Edar, was a princely state located in present-day Gujarat state of India. During the British era, it was a part of the Mahi Kantha Agency, within the Gujarat Division of Bombay Presidency. History Idar State was a princely state that was founded in 1257. Its rulers were Rathore Rajputs. On the question of the succession of the state of Idar, the Sultan of Gujarat, Muzaffar Shah, and Rana Sanga of Mewar supported rival claimants. In 1520, Sanga established Raimal on the Idar throne, with Muzaffar Shah sending an army to install his ally Bharmal. Sanga himself arrived in Idar and the Sultan's army was beaten back. Rana pursued the Gujarati army and plundered the towns of Ahmadnagar and Visnagar of Gujarat, chasing the Sultan's army as far as Ahmedabad. the Rathore's ruled Idar for 12 generations until they were defeated by the Mughals under Murad Baksh in 1656. Battle Of Soor
The Battle of Soor (30 September 1745) was a battle between Frederick the Great's Prussian army and an Austro-Saxon army led by Prince Charles Alexander of Lorraine during the Second Silesian War (part of the War of the Austrian Succession). The battle occurred in the vicinity of Soor, also known as Hajnice, in the modern day Czech Republic. The battle started with a failed Austrian surprise attack on the outnumbered Prussians. Despite initial setbacks the Prussian army managed to defeat the Austrians, due to an unexpected attack from a reserve regiment that refused to follow Frederick's orders. Background Three months after the battle of Hohenfriedberg, Frederick laid the "Camp of Staudenz", initially planning to return to Berlin, in order to inspect the building work on his new palace of Sans Souci. Tyre (; ar, صور, translit=Ṣūr; phn, 𐤑𐤓, translit=Ṣūr, Greek language, Greek ''Tyros'', Τύρος) is a city in Lebanon, one of the List of oldest continuously inhabited cities, oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, though in medieval times for some centuries by just a tiny population. Pritpal Soor is a London-based music producer and writer. He has produced for bands and artists such as Anna Calvi, The Loose Salute, Cheap Hotel, Out Of The Afternoon and Mancub Babywoman. He is also the vocalist and guitarist for the London punk/pop duo Flower Of Zeus. Music background His early musical career was spent as a guitarist and writer in a handful of bands, predominately in the unsigned London band, I Own Kings. Much of this period was spent recording demos for this band and for his old schoolfriend Ian McCutcheon's band, The Loose Salute. It was this relationship that found him the production job on The Loose Salute's first album, ''Tuned To Love'', released by Graveface Records and Heavenly Records Heavenly Recordings is a London-based independent record label founded by Jeff Barrett in 1990.
