Sony Music Entertainment Poland
Sony Music Entertainment Poland Sp. z o.o. (SMEP) is a Polish subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. It was founded in 1995 in Warsaw. The label's CEO is Kazimierz Pułaski. The label was founded after Sony Music Entertainment took over the catalogue of MJM Music PL in late 1995. In 2003, MJM Music PL split from SME Poland and has since run as an independent label. In 2004, the label merged with BMG Poland and formed Sony BMG Music Entertainment Poland, as of joint venture deal between Sony Music Entertainment and Bertelsmann Music Group. Polish division of Sony BMG included such artists as Big Cyc, Coma, Kayah and Maryla Rodowicz, among others. In 2008, after BMG was bought by Sony Music, the Polish label returned to the previous name Sony Music Entertainment Poland. The label's most recently signed artists include singer Dawid Podsiadło and the bands Trzynasta w Samo Południe and Bracia. Sony Music Entertainment (SME), also known as simply Sony Music, is an American multinational music company. Being owned by the parent conglomerate Sony Group Corporation, it is part of the Sony Music Group, which is owned by Sony Entertainment and managed by the American umbrella division of Sony. It was originally founded in 1929 as American Record Corporation and renamed as Columbia Recording Corporation in 1938, following its acquisition by the Columbia Broadcasting System. In 1966, the company was reorganized to become CBS Records, and Sony Corporation bought the company in 1988, renaming it under its current name in 1991. Kasia Cerekwicka (born ''Katarzyna Cerekwicka'' 17 March 1980 in Koszalin, Poland) is a Polish pop singer. She has been singing since she was a little girl. In 1997, at the age of 17, she won the popular Polish show '' Szansa na sukces'' ("Chance for Success"). Career She has recorded four albums. The first was ''Mozaika'' from 2000. In 2007 Kasia admitted she does not like ''Mozaika'' and is not surprised that it wasn't popular in Poland. Her next album was ''Feniks'' ("Fenix"). Grzegorz Skawiński
Grzegorz Bogdan Skawiński (July 6, 1954, Mława) is a Polish pop-rock musician, guitarist, singer, composer and record producer. He was the leader of the band O.N.A., and is a member of the Phonographic Academy ZPAV. Skawiński graduated from Wyspiański High School in Mława, where he met Waldemar Tkaczyk. Anna Monika "Ania" Dąbrowska (), usually referred to as Ania (), is a Polish singer, songwriter, and composer performing pop music, born 7 January 1981. Ania rose to stardom in 2004 with the release of '' Samotność po zmierzchu'' which was met with positive critical and commercial reception.
