Charles Lamont
Charles Lamont (May 5, 1895 – September 11, 1993) was a prolific filmmaker, directing over 200 titles and producing and writing many others. He directed several Abbott and Costello comedies and many Ma and Pa Kettle films. Biography A California native, Lamont was born in San Francisco. Lamont came from a family of actors, being the fourth generation to be an actor. He appeared onstage while a teenager and started appearing in films from 1919. He worked as a prop man before becoming assistant director. Lamont started directing comedy shorts in 1922, including for Mack Sennett and Al Christie. Some of Lamont's earliest directorial jobs were silent short-subject comedies for Educational Pictures. One of the studio's popular series was ''Juvenile Comedies'', featuring the child actor Malcolm "Big Boy" Sebastian. Barbara Bedford (actress)
Barbara Bedford (born Violet May Rose; July 19, 1903 – October 25, 1981) was an American actress who appeared in dozens of silent movies. Her career declined after the introduction of sound, but she continued to appear in small roles until 1945. Early life Barbara Bedford was born Violet May Rose on July 19, 1903, the first child to Robert William Rose, a Scottish-American interior decorator, and Barbara Rose (née Fish), who was a first generation Czech-American. She had a brother, William Rose. The 1910 census lists the family as living in Denver, Colorado. She was educated in Chicago and attended Lake View High School. According to Bedford, prior to becoming an actress, she taught swimming, dancing, and gymnastics and worked as an accountant. Lloyd Chauncey Ingraham (November 30, 1874 – April 4, 1956) was an American film actor and director. Biography Born in Rochelle, Illinois, Ingraham appeared in more than 280 films between 1912 and 1950, as well as directing more than 100 films between 1913 and 1930. Films for which he is known include ''Scaramouche'' (1923), ''The Padrone's Ward'' (1914) and '' Rainbow Valley'' (1935). Harry Semels (November 20, 1887 – March 2, 1946) was an American film actor. He appeared in over 315 film between 1917 and 1946. Career Semels appeared in his first film in 1917. He began to achieve fame after arriving at Columbia Pictures, appearing in several Three Stooges shorts including ''Disorder in the Court'', ''Wee Wee Monsieur'' and ''Three Little Sew and Sews''. He also appeared in feature films like ''Road to Morocco'', ''The Princess and the Pirate'' and ''The Kid from Brooklyn''. A versatile character actor, Semels often appeared as villains, waiters, soldiers, lawyers, et al. Personal life Semels was Jewish and had two children, Ruth and David, who was killed in action during World War II. Death Semels died of a heart attack on March 2, 1946, in Hollywood, California. Al Thompson
Al Thompson (September 21, 1884 – March 1, 1960) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 170 films between 1916 and 1958. Well known in the industry for performing the more difficult stunts, he kept busy as a stunt double for Andy Clyde in the latter's many movies and also appeared in many ''Three Stooges'' shorts. The wiry, athletic Thompson performed in a variety of bit parts and was equally comfortable in roles as varied as laundry worker, professor, desk clerk, or sign painter.
