Sonny Tilders
Sonny Tilders is an Australian animatronics artist, known for his work as creative director of the Creature Technology Company. Works Tilders led the team that designed and built the animatronics for ''Walking with Dinosaurs − The Arena Spectacular'', which premiered in 2007. He was also the creature-maker for the 2012 arena production of ''How To Train Your Dragon'', produced by CTC's parent company, Global Creatures Group, and Hollywood studio DreamWorks. In 2013, he created the on-stage puppet of the title character for the musical production of ''King Kong'', which premiered at Melbourne's Regent Theatre before moving to Broadway. At the time, it was reportedly the largest animatronic puppet ever created for a theatrical production. Animatronics
Animatronics refers to mechatronic puppets. They are a modern variant of the automaton and are often used for the portrayal of characters in films and in theme park attractions. It is a multidisciplinary field integrating puppetry, anatomy and mechatronics. Animatronic figures can be implemented with both computer and human control, including teleoperation. Motion actuators are often used to imitate muscle movements and create realistic motions. Figures are usually encased in body shells and flexible skins made of hard and soft plastic materials and finished with colors, hair, feathers and other components to make them more lifelike. Animatronics stem from a long tradition of mechanical automata powered by hydraulics, pneumatics and clockwork. Greek mythology and ancient Chinese writings mention early examples of automata. ''Walking with Dinosaurs − The Arena Spectacular'' was a live adaptation of the award-winning television series ''Walking with Dinosaurs''. Like the TV series, ''The Arena Spectacular'' has to recreate dinosaurs to the point of the viewers accepting the creatures as real. Created by late renowned Artistic Director and Visionary - William ‘Bill’ May. The show played its last show on 22 December 2019 at the Taipei Arena. Production ''Walking with Dinosaurs − The Arena Spectacular'' was created by The Creature Technology Company. The production cost $20 million to stage and used puppetry, suits, and animatronics to create 16 Mesozoic era creatures representing 10 species. Dutch Tilders (29 August 194123 April 2011), born Mattheus Frederikus Wilhelmus Tilders, anglicised as Matthew Tilders, was a Netherlands-born Australian blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. He performed and released material as a solo artist and also issued a blues-rock album with Kevin Borich, ''The Blues Had a Baby and They Called It Rock'n'Roll'' (November 1980). He has toured with John Mayall (1974), Brownie McGhee (1976, 1980s), and Taj Mahal (1986, 1990s).
