Sonny Parker (rugby Union)
Sonny Toi Parker (born 27 August 1977 in Thames, New Zealand) is a Welsh rugby union footballer who played for the Wales national rugby union team. He played for Pontypridd and the Celtic Warriors, before moving to the Ospreys when the Warriors region collapsed. He retired from Wales because of the demands of international rugby at the end of 2005 but was brought back by Gareth Jenkins for the 2006 Autumn internationals, and was subsequently selected in Wales' 2007 World Cup squad. Parker finished his Welsh career with 31 caps and six tries. He was the 1007th player to be capped by Wales. Thames () ( mi, Pārāwai) is a town at the southwestern end of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. It is located on the Firth of Thames close to the mouth of the Waihou River. Gareth Jenkins
Gareth John James Jenkins (born 11 September 1951) is a former Wales, Welsh rugby union rugby player, and former head coach of the Wales national rugby union team, Welsh national team. After a long and distinguished career at Llanelli RFC, Jenkins was appointed Wales coach in 2006, succeeding Mike Ruddock. He was sacked by the Welsh Rugby Union on 30 September 2007, following Wales' failure to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He left the role with just six wins from twenty test matches. Playing career Born in Burry Port, Jenkins played as a flanker for Llanelli RFC, Wales B side and the Barbarian F.C., Barbarians.
