Sonia Dada
Sonia Dada was an American rock, soul, and rhythm and blues band, formed in Chicago in 1990. Founding member Daniel Pritzker enlisted Michael Scott, Paris Delane, and Sam Hogan after hearing the latter three sing in a subway station.Biography Allmusic.com. Sonia Dada has become a mainstay of the Chicago musical scene in the years since, incorporating elements of rock, soul, gospel, and funk. Their 1992 debut album, ''Sonia Dada'', produced a major radio hit, "You Don't Treat Me No Good", and sold more than 100,000 copies. The album peaked at #29 on ''Billboards Heatseekers chart in 1993. In 1994, the band's tour saw them opening for the group Traffic, as well as headlining an extremely successful Australian tour. Erik Scott
Erik Scott (January 17, 1948 – October 11, 2019) was an American bassist, record producer, and songwriter. Scott played bass for the band Flo & Eddie in the 1970s as well as Alice Cooper in the early 1980s, for whom he also produced. In the 1990s he was one of the founding members of Sonia Dada, which reached the number one position on the Australian music charts with their eponymous debut studio album. Scott was also the co-writer of the song "Father, Father", which was the title track for the Pops Staples' album of the same name, winner of the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. In 2008 he became a solo artist as well, with his debut studio album ''Other Planets''. Shawn Christopher is a female African-American house-music singer from Chicago, Illinois. Career She was a touring backing vocalist for R&B singer Chaka Khan, from 1982 to 1985.
