Songs Of The Sea (1970 Film)
''Songs of the Sea'' ( ro, Cîntecele mării) is a 1970 Soviet-Romanian musical film directed by Francisc Munteanu. The soundtrack by Themistocle Popa to the film became popular in the USSR and in 1971 it was released as a record containing 4 songs from the film (Melodiya, D 00030081-2). The film was a USSR box-office leader in 1971 where it took 8th place, with 36.7 million viewers. Plot An amateur musical group of Romanian students from the city of Constanța is going to get to the Sochi festival, but they do not know the text of the compulsory song. Meanwhile, the text of the compulsory song wanders around the country due to the fact that it was stolen by a certain person from one Moscow archive. Soon, Nina Denisova (Natalya Fateyeva), representative of the Sochi festival, arrives in that city (in Constanta), where the ensemble is headed by student Mihai (Dan Spătaru). Nina is fond for Mihai. Dan Spătaru
Dan George Spătaru (; 2 October 1939, Aliman, Constanța County – 8 September 2004, Bucharest) was a Romanian singer, best known for the songs "Drumurile" ("The roads", 1984), "Să cântăm,chitara mea!" ("Let's sing, my guitar", 1970), and "Măicuță,îți mulțumesc" ("Dear Mother, thank you", 1987). Life and career Spătaru was born on 2 October 1939, in a family of teachers, Gherghina and Aurel Spătaru. He spent his childhood in Aliman, his hometown, in Ion Corvin and in Medgidia, with his elder sister Puica (Maria Nicola) and his grandparents, farmers. Horses were the first passion as a child, later another passion emerged, much stronger, that of football. Spătaru grew up among his grandparents' stories and songs played by his parents. When he was 12, his mother died, and the two children moved to Medgidia with an aunt to fulfill the mother's wish that her children go to school. Emil Hossu
Emil Hossu (; 24 November 1941 – 25 January 2012) was a Romanian actor. Hossu was born into a Greek-Catholic family in Ocna Sibiului, Sibiu County. He was a well-known actor of stage and screen in the 1980s and 1990s, having performed in over 50 movies and stage productions. At the time of his death, on 25 January 2012, he was performing at the Nottara Theatre in Bucharest alongside his wife, the actress Catrinel Dumitrescu. Hossu died of a cardiac arrest, just as he was about to go on stage in a play called ''The Anniversary''. He is interred at Bellu Cemetery in Bucharest. Natalya Nikolayevna Fateyeva (russian: Наталья Николаевна Фатеева; born 23 December 1934) is a Soviet and Russian film actress and television presenter. She has appeared in more than fifty films since 1956. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1980). Biography Natalya was born and brought up in Kharkiv. Her father was a Soviet military officer, and her mother was manager of a local fashion shop. She studied acting at Kharkiv Acting College during the 1950s and was briefly married to a student classmate, but soon she divorced the student and moved to Moscow. There, after meeting Sergei Gerasimov, Fateyeva was admitted to the graduate year at VGIK acting school.
