Songbirds (group)
Songbirds (sometimes known as "Songbirds of Country") was an Australian country music girl group, formed in 2007 by platinum selling, ARIA Award nominated, and 24 time Golden Guitar winning artists and good friends Beccy Cole, Gina Jeffreys and Sara Storer. The group released a live DVD in 2009, which peaked at number 5 on the ARIA Top 40 Music DVD chart. The DVD was certified gold. History The friendship of Cole and Jeffreys dates back to the 1990s they were bridesmaids for each other. Cole said (of Gina) "We’ll be friends forever; we know too much. Performing with one of your best friends is such a special feeling." Cole, Jeffreys and Storer have appeared in each other's live shows and on recordings throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Christie Lamb
Christie Lamb (born 1992) is an English-born, Australian country singer-songwriter. Lamb has released four studio albums. Early life Lamb was born in England and moved to Australia at 6 years of age. She found her love for the stage through dance lessons and began playing flute at primary school, before commencing piano and vocal lessons at age of ten. At 14, Christie took up guitar and began song-writing. Following high school, she studied a Bachelor of Music at university and travelled to Nashville, Tennessee. Career Lamb released her debut EP in 2011, featuring her debut single "Mr. Wrong", which reached number 4 on the Country Tracks Top 30. Aleyce Simmonds (born 6 December 1986 in Port Macquarie, New South Wales) is an Australian country music recording artist and singer-songwriter. Simmonds' accolades include the Telstra Road to Tamworth Winner in 2004. As a part of her prize Aleyce visited Nashville and recorded a successful single, "Mighty, Mighty Love". Simmonds also won an APRA Award, in 2017 for Country Work of the Year, with her song "Greatest Companion". "You've Got a Friend" is a 1971 song written by American singer, songwriter, and musician Carole King. It was first recorded by King and included on her second studio album, ''Tapestry'' (1971). Another well-known version is by James Taylor from his album ''Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon''.
