Harry Russell Hopton (February 18, 1900 – April 7, 1945) was an American film actor and director. Biography Hopton was born in New York City, New York. He appeared in 110 films between 1926 and 1945, often playing streetwise characters from the city. Hopton directed the films ''Song of the Trail'' (1936) and '' Black Gold'' (1936). He died of an overdose of sleeping pills in North Hollywood, California. He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. Horace Murphy
Horace Murphy (June 3, 1880 – January 20, 1975) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1931 and 1953. Early years Born in Osceola, Arkansas, Murphy was playing cornet by age 11, and six years later led the band for the Newton Family Wagon Show. The next spring, he became the leader of a 45-piece band for the C.W. Parker Carnival Company. After two years in that position, he left to work in Dr. Rucker's Korak Wonder Medicine Show in order to be able to act in addition to leading the band. Radio Murphy played Will Kimble, the storekeeper, in ''Granby's Green Acres'', a radio show which was on CBS in the summer of 1950. He also had roles in several radio westerns, including Shorty on ''Gene Autry's Melody Ranch'', Clackity for one season of ''The Roy Rogers Show'', and Buckskin Blodgett on ''Red Ryder''. Roger Grimes Williams (February 8, 1898 – December 18, 1964) was an American actor of the 1930s. Born on February 8, 1898, in Denver, Colorado, his family moved to the Los Angeles area during the early 1900s. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I, being awarded several decorations. Married several times, he entered the film industry in the early 1930s, where he worked for several years. Married three times, he had a short film career during the 1930s, after which not much is known of his life, until his death in Los Angeles in 1964. Early life Williams was born in Denver, Colorado, on February 8, 1898, to Charles H. Williams and Evangeline Lloyd. He was the oldest of seven children. By 1910 the family had moved to California, and were living Belvedere, which was in Los Angeles County.
