Sondre Meisfjord
Sondre Meisfjord (born 18 March 1975 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian folk and jazz musician (double bass and cello), and composer, raised in Frei, Nordmøre, known from bands like Come Shine, Flukt, Gjermund Larsen Trio. Career Meisfjord attended the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (1998–2001). He won Spellemannprisen (2002) with the jazz band Come Shine (1998–2003), played Norwegian folk music with the trio 'Flukt', Irish folk music in 'Musharings', cool jazz in John Pål Inderberg's The Zetting, pop in Siri Gjære's band, and was in the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra with Pat Metheny. Live Maria Roggen
Live Maria Roggen (born 22 March 1970) is a Norwegian jazz singer, songwriter and composer. Roggen was born in Oslo and educated at Foss High School (violin and vocals). She studied sociology and Musicology intermediate at the University of Oslo and Jazz Line at Trøndelag Conservatory of Music ( NTNU) (1995–1998). She worked as a jazz and singing teacher at the Sund folkehøgskole, Høgskolen in Agder (music conservatory) and at Trøndelag Conservatory of Music (NTNU). Gjermund Larsen
Gjermund Larsen (born 29 July 1981 in Verdal, Norway) is a Norwegian traditional folk musician (violin) and composer, known from several bands and recordings. Career Larsen is a trained musician from the Ole Bull Academy at Voss, and the traditional folk music program at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. During his studies he joined the band Majorstuen, and contributed on several album releases, including ''Majorstuen'' awarded Spellemannprisen 2003. He collaborated within the Finnish-Norwegian band Frigg, Christian Wallumrød Sexstet, and with Odd Nordstoga and Maj Britt Andersen, as well as with the blues artist Reidar Larsen (2006). Tord Gustavsen (born 5 October 1970) is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer. He tours extensively worldwide, and he has been a bandleader for a trio, ensemble and quartet at various times, all bearing his name. Early life Gustavsen was born on 5 October 1970 in Oslo and raised in rural Hurdal, Akershus. He "grew up playing church music". Dipsomania is a historical term describing a medical condition involving an uncontrollable craving for alcohol or drugs. In the 19th century, the term dipsomania was used to refer to a variety of alcohol-related problems, most of which are known today as alcohol use disorder. Kari Bremnes
Kari Bremnes (born 9 December 1956) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. She got an MA in language, literature, history and theatre studies from the University of Oslo, and worked as a journalist for several years before deciding to dedicate herself to music full-time. In 1987 she received the Spellemann Award (Spellemannprisen) for the record ''Mitt ville hjerte'', and in 1991 for the record ''Spor''. Dadafon
Dadafon (established in 1995 in Trondheim, Norway) was a Norwegian experimental jazz band, originally called Coloured Moods (name changed in 2000), initiated by drummer Martin Smidt, and including Kristin Asbjørnsen (vocals), Carl Haakon Waadeland (drums), Jostein Ansnes and Bjørn Ole Solberg. The band had African music influences. John Pål Inderberg
John Pål Inderberg (born 6 August 1950 Steinkjer, Norway) is a versatile saxophonist and one of the leading traditional musicians in Norway. His playing synthethises many different styles, not least when in partnership with Norwegian and American jazz musicians - players as contrasting as Gil Evans and Lee Konitz. Career As an earlier member of the new cool quartet, Inderberg gave new popularity to the collective art of improvisation in the 1950s.
