''The Son of the Red Corsair'' (Italian: ''Il figlio del corsaro rosso'') is a 1959 Italian historical adventure film written and directed by Primo Zeglio and starring Lex Barker, Sylvia Lopez and Vira Silenti. It is based on the novel with the same name by Emilio Salgari. The story had previously been made into a 1943 film '' The Son of the Red Corsair''.Goble p.405 The film's sets were designed by the art directors Mario Chiari and Alfredo Montori. Livio Lorenzon (6 May 1923 – 23 December 1971) was an Italian actor who was mainly active during the 1950s and 1960s. Biography He played minor roles in some memorable commedia all'Italiana movies directed by the likes of Dino Risi and Mario Monicelli. Elio Pandolfi (17 June 1926 – 11 October 2021) was an Italian stage, film and television actor, radio personality, and voice actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Pandolfi got a degree in accounting, and then he enrolled at the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts graduating in 1948. He debuted on stage the same year, and was mainly active in theater, including operetta, musical theatre and revue. Luigi Visconti, better known by his stage name Fanfulla, (26 February 1913 – 5 January 1971) was an Italian actor and comedian. Life and career Born in Rome, Visconti debuted at very young age on stage alongside his mother, the actress Mercedes Menolesi (best known as "Diavolina"). From the mid-forties to the late fifties, he adopted the stage name Fanfulla and was a popular comedian of cabaret and avanspettacolo shows, acclaimed for his brilliant style, referred to as "The King of Avanspettacolo" and even paired with Ettore Petrolini.
