Esther Talia Casey
Bang Gang is a downtempo band from Iceland founded by songwriter and producer Barði Jóhannsson (see also Lady & Bird). The band was formed in 1996, in Barði’s hometown of Reykjavík. Bang Gang were initially a surf band but it moved into melodic pop. While Barði has worked with a number of vocalists and musicians, he remains the only constant member. The band's second album '' Something Wrong'' followed in 2003 and their acclaimed '' Ghosts From The Past'' was released on Discograph in 2008. The most recent album ''The Wolves Are Whispering'' has been described by journalists as "Atmospheric Ghost Pop" and has a sound that is unique. The band is recognized for its blend of songwriting, electronica and glacial atmospheres. Ragnar Bragason
Ragnar Bragason (born 15 September 1971) is an Icelandic film director, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Droplaug was born in Súðavík, Iceland. He is best known for his films '' Börn'' (''Children'') and ''Foreldrar'' (''Parents''), both Edda Award winners, and the popular TV series ''Næturvaktin'' (''The Night Shift''), ''Dagvaktin'' (''The Day Shift''), and ''Fangavaktin'' (''The Prison Shift''). Ragnar grew up in the village of Súðavík, in a family of fishermen and farmers. He got his start making short videos in college. After directing many music videos, shorts and documentaries, he released his first feature-film ''Fíaskó'' (''Fiasco'') in 2000. In his earlier work he used traditional ways of writing and directing, but more recently Ragnar has followed methods similar to those of Mike Leigh and John Cassavetes of working with his actors to create characters and screenplays through improvisation. Nicolette (musician)
Nicolette (full name Nicolette Love Suwoton, born 1964) is a Scottish singer-songwriter of Nigerian parentage, residing in London for most of her life, and has also lived in Nigeria, Switzerland, France, and Belgium. Her music, although falling broadly into the field of electronica, is characterised by many influences, including, jazz, classical, blues, folk and African. Career She has released three solo albums, as well as a DJ mix album for the '' DJ-Kicks'' series, and featured on "Three" and " Sly", two songs on Massive Attack's 1994 ''Protection'' album. She has worked with many other collaborators in the electronic music field, including Plaid, Alec Empire, and 4hero. She signed to the Talkin' Loud label in 1996. Daníel Ágúst Haraldsson
Daníel Ágúst Haraldsson (born 26 August 1969) is an Icelandic solo artist and a lead singer of the bands GusGus, Nýdönsk and Esja. Biography Daníel has been part of the local and international music scene since he started his career with Icelandic pop sensation Nýdönsk some 30 years ago. In 1989, he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 for Iceland with the song "Það sem enginn sér". He finished in 22nd place, scoring no points. After releasing 5 albums with Nýdönsk, he produced an album with electronic rock group Bubbleflies. He then branched out into acting in the National and Municipal theatres, playing roles in West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar (Pontius Pilate) and Stone Free. Film directors Arni and Kinski approached him with playing a lead role in their short film Nautn. It was with this film project Daníel founded GusGus in 1995 with Kinski.
