"Someone's Coming" is a song by the British singer-songwriter Steve Harley, which was released in 1979 as the second and final single from his 1978 debut solo album ''Hobo with a Grin''. It was written by Harley and Jo Partridge, and produced by Harley. Background The release of Harley's debut solo album, ''Hobo with a Grin'', and the lead single " Roll the Dice", in July 1978 was met with commercial failure. After a period of living in Los Angeles, Harley returned to England in late 1978. Around this time, plans were made for "Someone's Coming" to be released as the album's second single. It was originally slated for release on 10 November 1978, however the date was then pushed back to 23 February 1979. For its release as a single, a remixed version of the song was created. Like its parent album and "Roll the Dice", "Someone's Coming" was a commercial failure, failing to make an appearance in the UK Top 75. Steve Harley
Steve Harley (born Stephen Malcolm Ronald Nice; 27 February 1951) is an English singer and songwriter, best known as frontman of the rock group Cockney Rebel, with whom he still tours, albeit with frequent and significant personnel changes. Early life Harley was born in 1951 in Deptford, London, the second of five children. His father was a milkman and his mother a semi-professional jazz singer. During the summer of 1953, Harley contracted polio, causing him to spend four years in hospital between the ages of three and 16. He underwent two major surgeries in 1963 and 1966. After recovering from the first operation at the age of 12, Harley was introduced to the poetry of T. S. Eliot and D. H. Lawrence, the prose of John Steinbeck, Virginia Woolf and Ernest Hemingway, and the music of Bob Dylan, which inspired him to a career of words and music. ''Poetic Justice'' is the fourth solo studio album by English singer-songwriter Steve Harley, which was released by Transatlantic on 26 August 1996. Background Harley wrote much of the new material for ''Poetic Justice'' while on tour with his band Cockney Rebel, which he reformed and began touring with again in 1989. As his first album since 1992's ''Yes You Can'', Harley recorded ''Poetic Justice'' at Berry House Studios in Ardingly, Sussex, with a number of musicians, including Nick Pynn, Phil Beer, Thomas Arnold, Ian Nice, Andrew Brown and Paul Francis. He told the ''Stockport Times'' in 1996, "It's my first album for four years so it's like a new beginning. It has blue and dark moments but then so has my life. Bill Champlin
William Bradford Champlin (born May 21, 1947) is an American singer, musician, arranger, producer, and songwriter. He formed the band Sons of Champlin in 1965, which still performs today, and was a member of the band Chicago from 1981–2009. He performed lead vocals on three of Chicago's biggest hits of the 1980s, 1984's " Hard Habit to Break" and 1988's "Look Away" and "I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love". Bill Payne
William H. Payne (born March 12, 1949) is an American pianist who, with Lowell George, co-founded the American rock band Little Feat. He is considered by many other rock pianists, including Elton John, to be one of the finest American piano rock and blues musicians. In addition to his trademark barrelhouse blues piano, he is noted for his work on the Hammond B3 organ. Payne is an accomplished songwriter whose credits include "Oh, Atlanta". The ''Buckinghamshire Examiner'' more usually known as the ''Bucks Examiner'' was a weekly newspaper, published on Wednesdays and distributed in the towns of Amersham, Chesham, and the surrounding villages in the Chiltern area of Buckinghamshire, England. Its last owner and publisher was Trinity Mirror. It was first published in 1889 under the banner ''Amersham Examiner''. The paper moved to Chesham in the 1890s along with the ''Amersham & Rickmansworth Times''. It was known for a period as the ''Chesham Examiner'' only becoming the ''Bucks Examiner'' in 1906.
