"Some People" is a song by American singer E. G. Daily, released in 1989 as the lead single from her second studio album ''Lace Around the Wound''. The song was written and produced by Lotti Golden and Tommy Faragher. It reached No. 33 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Songs and remained on the charts for five weeks. A music video was filmed to promote the single. It was directed by David Kellogg and produced by Pam Tarr for Squeak Pictures. In August, Daily appeared on ''American Bandstand'' to perform "Some People" along with "Bad Water". Critical reception Upon release, ''Billboard'' listed the song as a recommended dance choice, commenting: "Singer/actress returns with an appealing pop cut that surprisingly enough sports an engaging Staples Singers-ish vocal approach". ''Lace Around the Wound'' is the second studio album by the American singer, actress and musician E. G. Daily, released by A&M in 1989. Background The album signaled a change in direction for Daily from synthpop to pop-rock, Daily's sophomore offering was singled out as "worthy of praise" in Cashbox for its for its well written songs and subject matter, artfully delivered by Daily.Cash Box newspaper - 14 October 1989 - Pure pop for now people - page 32 The album's lead single, " Some People," written and produced by Lotti Golden and Tommy Faragher peaked at No. 33 on the US ''Billboard'' Dance Music/Club Play Singles Chart. Davey Faragher
David Allen "Davey" Faragher (born August 18, 1957) is an American bass guitarist from Redlands, California. Faragher's career took off and received critical notice as a founding member of the nineties band Cracker, and his subsequent work with John Hiatt's band, and The Imposters, the backing band for Elvis Costello since 2001. In 2015, Faragher joined Richard Thompson's Electric Trio for Thompson's ''Still'' album and US tour. Faragher is an accomplished session musician, and has a strong portfolio of performances with notable musicians. Timothy Gerard Landers (born November 1, 1956) is an American bassist best known for his contribution to the 1970s-80s jazz-fusion genre and his work with Al Di Meola, Billy Cobham, and Gil Evans. Landers is a session musician and was a member of Tom Scott's band on ''The Pat Sajak Show''. John Van Tongeren
John Warrington Van Tongeren is an American keyboardist and composer for films and television. Biography Van Tongeren's career in the entertainment business began as a keyboardist, with one of his earliest projects being the band Q, featuring Jon St. James and Stacey Swain (a.k.a. Stacey Q). Q then became SSQ, which released one album, Playback, on EMI records with John contributing four songs, most notably Anonymous. After leaving SSQ in the early '80s, Van Tongeren became an in-demand session musician and began composing music for movies.
