Sogdiana Jizzakh
Sogdiyona Jizzakh ( Uzbek: ''Soʻgʻdiyona Jizzax Futbol Klubi / "Сўғдиёна" Жиззах Футбол Клуби''), formerly known as Sogdiana, is an Uzbek professional football club based in Jizzakh, that plays in the Uzbekistan Super League. Football Club Sogdiyona Jizzakh was founded in 1970, it is named after the ancient historical area of Sogdia. In Soviet times, the club was mainly involved in the Second and First leagues of the USSR Championship. In 1979 it became the winner of zone "Central Asia" of the Second League of the USSR. In the debut drawing of the Uzbekistan Higher League in 1992, Sogdiana sensationally won the bronze medal of this league, an achievement which is still the highest in their history. Sogdiana Stadium
Sogdiyona Sport Majmuasi ( uz, So'g'diyona Sport Majmuasi) or Sogdiyona Stadium is a Sporting Complex, stadium in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home stadium of Sogdiana Jizzakh, Sogdiyona Jizzakh. The stadium holds 11,650 spectators. History The stadium wit initial name ''Markaziy Stadium Jizzakh'', in English: Central Stadium Jizzakh, was built in 1970. The stadium original capacity was 9,000 spectators. Over 40 years stadium became outdated. The first big renovation was held in 1997. Reconstruction In 2012 stadium was closed and underwent massive reconstruction. The construction works were finished and stadium holds 11,650 spectators. The stadium's name have been changed to ''Sogdiyona Sport Majmuasi''. Soviet Second League B
The Soviet Second League B or Soviet Lower Second League was an auxiliary fourth tier of the Soviet league system, because it was not consistent as it existed only for six seasons and somewhat randomly. It was the fourth highest division of Soviet football, below the Soviet Second League. Description It was introduced initially for three seasons (two tiers) at the inception of Soviet league football in 1936 as the "Group G" until 1938 when all teams were allowed to compete in one ''Super League''. At that time it consisted of a single group. At the first championships two of them occurred in 1936, it contained around five teams. In 1937 the league was increased to 12 participants. The 1994 Uzbek League season was the 3rd edition of top level football in Uzbekistan since independence from the Soviet Union in 1992. Overview It was contested by 16 teams, and FK Neftchi Farg'ona, Neftchi Farg'ona won the championship. FK Neftchi Farg'ona, Neftchi Farg'ona won the league title again for the third time and third in a row On winning the championship, Neftchi also qualified for the 1995–96 Asian Club Championship edition. Neftchi also won the 1994 Uzbek Cup, which meant that no Uzbek team would be represented in the 1995–96 Asian Cup Winners' Cup. 1993 Uzbek League
The 1993 Uzbek League season was the 2nd edition of top level football in Uzbekistan since independence from the Soviet Union in 1992. FK Neftchi Farg'ona, Neftchi Farg'ona once again won the league and the championship outright this time after previously sharing with FC Pakhtakor Tashkent, Pakhtakor Tashkent the season before. On winning the championship, Nefchi also qualified for the next edition of the AFC Champions League, the first time a club side from Uzbekistan would play in AFC competitions. They would also enter the 1994 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup a competition for former members of the Soviet Union. FC Pakhtakor, Pakhtakor Tashkent won the Uzbek Cup#1993, 1993 Uzbek Cup and would take their place in the 1994–95 Asian Cup Winners' Cup. The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
