Sociedade Esportiva Matsubara (S. E. Matsubara), usually known simply as Matsubara, was a Brazilian football club based in Cambará, in the state of Paraná. History It was founded on December 18, 1974 by the Japanese Brazilian Sueo Matsubara to replace the local club Cambaraense, runner-up of the 1953 Paranaense championship.''Especial Placar - 500 Times do Brasil, São Paulo: Editora Abril: 2003.'' In 1976, Matsubara was Campeonato Paranaense runner-up. In 1992, Matsubara finished in Campeonato Brasileiro Série C's third position. The club was eliminated in the Group B final (which is the stage immediately before the competition final) by Fluminense de Feira. Londrina (, literally "Little London") is a city located in the north of the state of Paraná, South Region, Brazil, and is away from the state capital, Curitiba. The Estádio Jacy Scaff, usually known as Estádio do Café, is a football (soccer), football stadium inaugurated on August 22, 1976, in Londrina, Paraná (state), Paraná, with a maximum capacity of approximately 36,000 people. The stadium is owned by the City Hall of Londrina, and is the home ground of Londrina Esporte Clube and Associação Portuguesa Londrinense. Sociedade Esportiva Matsubara also plays at the stadium. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. Campeonato Paranaense, which has been contested since 1915, is the top-flight football league of the state of Paraná, Brazil.
