Socialist Youth (Portugal)
Socialist Youth ( pt, Juventude Socialista) is the youth organisation of the Socialist Party of Portugal. The Socialist Youth (JS) is a political organization that emerges as a youth party of the Socialist Party. It is integrated, politically and ideologically, into democratic socialism and social-democracy. It is made up of young people over 14 and under 30, Portuguese or resident in Portugal. At the moment, the organization’s Secretary-General is Miguel Costa Matos, chosen in the XXI National Congress of the JS, that took place in December 2020. It is a political organization of young Portuguese who accept the political platform approved in Congress, the Declaration of Principles and Program of the Socialist Party, with the aim of building a more just and solidary society in Portugal. Miguel Costa Matos
Miguel de Oliveira Pires da Costa Matos (born May 29, 1994) is a Portuguese politician. He served as Secretary General of Socialist Youth (Portugal), Socialist Youth. He became a member of the Assembly of the Republic (Portugal), Portuguese Parliament for the Socialist Party (Portugal), Socialist Party in 2019. At 26, he was the youngest to become a member of Parliament. António José Seguro
António José Martins Seguro (born 11 March 1962) is a Portuguese politician for the Socialist Party (PS). Seguro was Secretary General of the PS from 2011 until September 2014, and he was the leader of the largest opposition party in the Portuguese Parliament. Maria Begonha
Maria Begonha (born 1989) is a Portuguese politician, a member of the Portuguese Socialist Party (PS), and a former member of the Assembly of the Republic. She served as secretary-general of Socialist Youth from 2018 to 2020. Early life Cristina Maria da Fonseca Santos Bacelar Begonha was born in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon on 21 January 1989.
