Socialist Action Party (Spanish: ''Partido de Acción Socialista'', PASOC) was a socialist political party in Spain, founded in 1972 as the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (historical sector). History The party was founded in 1972 as the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (historical sector), as a result of a split of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party. In 1977 the party changed its name to Socialist Party and in 1982 adopted its definitive name. In 1986 the party joined United Left, leaving the coalition in 2001 and disappearing soon after. Rodolfo Llopis
Rodolfo Llopis Ferrándiz (27 February 1895, Callosa d'En Sarrià, Alicante, Spain – 22 July 1983, Albi, France) was a Spanish socialist politician. He was the General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party in exile from 1944 to 1972. In 1947 he succeeded José Giral as prime minister of the Spanish Republican government in exile. Álvaro de Albornoz y Liminiana succeeded him the same year. During the period of the Spanish Second Republic, Llopis was heavily involved with primary education reforms. The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Alonso José Puerta Gutiérrez (born 1944) is a Spanish politician. Born on 24 March 1944 in Avilés, Asturias. Puerta was initially a Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) member and was elected for that party to the Spanish Congress of Deputies at the 1977 general election representing Madrid. He was the leader of the Madrid regional branch of the party, the Madrilenian Socialist Federation, from 1977 to 1979. Puerta ran as candidate in the PSOE list for the 1979 Madrid City Council election and, elected, he served as municipal councillor from 19 April 1979 to 9 October 1981.
