Soboma George
Soboma George (died August 24, 2010) was a militant in both the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta and The Outlaws. In August 2009 George accepted an amnesty offer made by the Nigerian government, under President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua. George reportedly escaped multiple arrests and assassination attempts before being killed on August 24, 2010 in Port Harcourt. Until his death, Soboma led The Outlaws, a cult gang, and was a notorious commander of MEND. In 2007, a joint military operation claimed to have tracked and killed George, but these claims proved to be rumors. George was one of the militant gang leaders to embrace Yar'adua's amnesty in August 2009. Movement For The Emancipation Of The Niger Delta
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is a decentralised militant group in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. MEND's actionsincluding sabotage, theft, property destruction, guerrilla warfare, and kidnappingare part of the broader conflict in the Niger Delta and reduced Nigeria's oil production by 33% between 2006-07. Amnesty

Umaru Musa Yar'Adua
Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (16 August 19515 May 2010) was a Nigerian politician who, was the President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010. He was declared the winner of the Nigerian presidential election held on 21 April 2007, and was sworn in on 29 May 2007. He served previously as the governor of Katsina state from 1999 to 2007; and was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In 2009, Yar'Adua left for Saudi Arabia to receive treatment for pericarditis. He returned to Nigeria on 24 February 2010, but died on 5 May. Bayelsa
Bayelsa is one of the states in the South-South region of Nigeria, located in the core of the Niger Delta region. Bayelsa State was created in 1996 and was carved out from Rivers State, making it one of the newest states in the federation. Yenagoa is the capital city of Bayelsa State with most parts to have fallen within the high-risk of floods, suspects to occur annually.
