The Soboleva modified hyperbolic tangent, also known as (parametric) Soboleva modified hyperbolic tangent activation function ( MHTAF), is a special S-shaped function based on the hyperbolic tangent, given by :\operatornamex = \frac . This function was originally proposed as "modified hyperbolic tangent" by Elena V. Soboleva () as a utility function for multi-objective optimization and choice modelling in decision-making. It has since been introduced into neural network theory and practice. The function was also used to approximate current-voltage characteristics of field-effect transistors and light-emitting diodes, to design antenna feeders, and analyze plasma temperatures and densities in the divertor region of fusion reactors. Hausdorff Distance
In mathematics, the Hausdorff distance, or Hausdorff metric, also called Pompeiu–Hausdorff distance, measures how far two subsets of a metric space are from each other. It turns the set of non-empty compact subsets of a metric space into a metric space in its own right. It is named after Felix Hausdorff and Dimitrie Pompeiu. Informally, two sets are close in the Hausdorff distance if every point of either set is close to some point of the other set. The Hausdorff distance is the longest distance you can be forced to travel by an adversary who chooses a point in one of the two sets, from where you then must travel to the other set. A sigmoid function is a mathematical function having a characteristic "S"-shaped curve or sigmoid curve. A common example of a sigmoid function is the logistic function shown in the first figure and defined by the formula: :S(x) = \frac = \frac=1-S(-x).
