So You Think You're Funny
So You Think You're Funny? (SYTYF) is an annual stand-up comedy competition for new acts. The competition began in 1988 in the United Kingdom. The finals are held every August at The Gilded Balloon during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Past winners include Aisling Bea, Dylan Moran, Lee Mack, Peter Kay and David O'Doherty. History ''So You Think You're Funny'' was the idea of Karen Koren, Artistic Director of The Gilded Balloon, in order to discover new comic talent. During the years it has developed into the most influential competition of its kind in the UK, helping start the careers of many of the country's leading comedians including Dylan Moran, Lee Mack, Graham Norton, David O'Doherty and Tommy Tiernan. This is a list of characters from the television series ''Bo' Selecta!'' Main characters Craig David Craig David is one of the main ''Bo' Selecta'' characters. His catchphrases are "Proper Reet Bo" and "Proper Bo, I tell thee!". He is portrayed as having a very large chin, with a beard made with a pen. Craig has a very strong Yorkshire accent. He is known for always singing his name. He carries around a plastic Peregrine Falcon on his wrist named "Kes", possibly as a reference to the film of the same name. Harriet Braine
Harriet Braine is a musical comedian and archivist. In 2017 she won the Funny Women Awards, for which she was mentored by Ellie Taylor, and she was Best Newcomer at the Musical Comedy Awards. The same year Braine was a finalist in the So You Think You're Funny? competition for new acts. Braine undertook a five-year Master of Arts course in fine art at Edinburgh College of Art, part of the University of Edinburgh. While studying, she joined Paradok, an alternative theatre group, and became president of the group in her final year. In 2017, Braine performed an hour-long show at the Edinburgh Fringe; titled 'Total Eclipse of the Art' the show was themed around art history, with one reviewer remarking on Braine's "impressive array of songs about Leonardo Da Vinci, Monet, Tracey Emin, ndPablo Picasso". Maisie Adam
Maisie Adam (born 24 January 1994) is an English stand-up comedian, writer and actress. Early life Maisie Adam grew up in Pannal, North Yorkshire, with her parents Phillip and Jill Adam, and her younger brother Daniel. At 14, she was diagnosed with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. Adam attended St Aidan's Church of England High School in Harrogate, where she was Head Girl. Rhod Gilbert
Rhodri Paul Gilbert (born 18 October 1968) is a Welsh comedian and television & radio presenter who was nominated in 2005 for the Perrier Best Newcomer Award. In 2008 he was nominated for the main comedy award (as the Edinburgh Comedy Awards were then branded). Gilbert appears on television and radio panel shows, has performed stand-up on the Royal Variety Performance, and hosted a weekly show on BBC Radio Wales. Jenny Eclair (born Jenny Clare Hargreaves; 16 March 1960) is an English comedian, novelist, and actress, best known for her roles in ''Grumpy Old Women'' between 2004 and 2007 and in '' Loose Women'' in 2011 and 2012.
