"So Much for Pretending" is a song co-written and recorded by American country music singer Bryan White. It was released in June 1996 as the second single from his album '' Between Now and Forever''. The song was White's third No. 1 single – and with a pair of weeks on top (September 21–28, 1996), his only multi-week No. 1 – on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) chart. White co-wrote the song with John Tirro and Derek George, the latter of whom was a former member of the band Pearl River. Music video The music video was directed by Jeffrey C. Phillips and premiered in mid-1996. Bryan Shelton White (born February 17, 1974) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Signed to Asylum Records in 1994 at age 20, White released his self-titled debut album that year. Both it and its follow-up, 1996's '' Between Now and Forever'', were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, and 1997's ''The Right Place'' was certified gold. His fourth album, 1999's ''How Lucky I Am'', produced two top 40 singles, with the song "God Gave Me You" eventually becoming a big hit in the Philippines. White has charted 17 singles on the '' Billboard'' country charts, of which four reached number one: "Someone Else's Star" in 1995, " Rebecca Lynn" and " So Much for Pretending" in 1996, and " Sittin' on Go" in 1997. Choctaw Stadium, formerly Globe Life Park, is an American multi-purpose stadium in Arlington, Texas, between Dallas and Fort Worth. Originally built as a baseball stadium, it was home to the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball and the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame from 1994 through 2019, when the team vacated the stadium for Globe Life Field. It was constructed as a replacement for nearby Arlington Stadium and opened in April 1994 as The Ballpark in Arlington. In 2020, it was retrofitted for use as a football and soccer facility. Will Clark
William Nuschler Clark Jr. (born March 13, 1964) is an American professional baseball first baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1986 through 2000. He played for the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and St. Louis Cardinals. Clark was known by the nickname of "Will the Thrill." The nickname has often been truncated to simply, "the Thrill." Clark played college baseball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, where he won the Golden Spikes Award, and at the 1984 Summer Olympics before playing in the major leagues.
