''SnowMads'' is the eighth studio album by American hip hop group Onyx, released on November 15, 2019 via Goon MuSick. The album is entirely produced by Snowgoons. This is not the first time the two groups have worked together. Five years prior, Snowgoons had forced Onyx to release the LP #WakeDaFucUp, which was named as one of the best hip-hop albums of 2014 by '' XXL''. Over the course of 5 years, Onyx had collaborated several times with Snowgoons and had also performed in Europe together. ''SnowMads'' included 15 tracks and guest appearances from rappers Bumpy Knuckles, Nems, Knuckles (N.B.S.), Quadro, Ufo Fev, SickFlo, Flee Lord and Dope D.O.D. Critical response In his review of the album for ''UndergroundHipHopBlog'', Legends Will Never Die rated the album 8 out of 10 and added: "I’ve been wanting a #WAKEDAFUCUP follow-up for a while now & I’m finally glad they did it. Onyx (group)
Onyx is an American hardcore hip hop group from South Jamaica, Queens, New York City, formed in 1988 by Fredro Starr, Suavé (also known as Sonny Seeza) and the late Big DS. Sticky Fingaz joined the group in 1991. They are best known for their 1993 platinum hit single "Slam", which ''The Source'' magazine described as a song that introduce the art of slam dancing into hip-hop. The group has released eight studio albums, three of which have charted in the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart Top 25. ''XXL'' is an American hip hop magazine, published by Townsquare Media, founded in 1997. History In August 1997, Harris Publications released the first issue of ''XXL''. It featured rappers Jay-Z and Master P on a double cover. Genius is an American digital media company founded on August 27, 2009, by Tom Lehman, Ilan Zechory, and Mahbod Moghadam. "Slam" is a song by American hip hop group Onyx. It was released on May 11, 1993 by JMJ Records and Rush Associated Labels as the second single from Onyx's debut album, ''Bacdafucup''. The song introduced slamdancing into hip-hop. "Slam" was Onyx's breakthrough single, making it to number 4 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and was the group's second straight single to make it to number 1 on the Hot Rap Singles for two weeks. James Campbell (born March 27, 1969), better known by his stage names Freddie Foxxx and Bumpy Knuckles, is an American rapper and music producer from Long Island, New York. Biography Foxxx got his start rapping in the early 1980s.
