Snowboarding At The 2018 Winter Olympics – Women's Big Air
The women's big air competition of the 2018 Winter Olympics was held on 19 and 22 February 2018 at the Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The event made its Olympic debut. Qualification The top 30 athletes in the Olympic quota allocation list qualified (for both big air and slopestyle, the rankings were combined). This meant only a maximum of 30 could qualify across both events. A maximum of four athletes per National Olympic Committee (NOC) was allowed. All athletes qualifying must also have placed in the top 30 of a FIS World Cup event (in either big air or slopestyle) or the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships 2017 during the qualification period (1 July 2016 to 21 January 2018) and also have a minimum of 50 FIS points to compete. Sina Candrian (born 21 November 1988 in Flims) is a Swiss snowboarder competing in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Career Candrian's career in competitive snowboarding began in 2005, when she took 3rd place in the FIS Junior World Championships in Zermatt. The following year, she placed first in Big Air at the FIS Junior World Snowboard Championships in Korea. Her first TTR event was the Burton European Open, also in 2006, at Laax. She placed 4th in the 6Star Roxy Chicken Jam Slopestyle and won the Halfpipe at the 6Star O'Neill Evolution. At the end of the 2007–08 season, she was placed 6th in the world in the TTR. Sofya Vyacheslavovna Fyodorova (alternatively romanized as Fedorova) (russian: Софья Вячеславовна Фёдорова; born 4 September 1998) is a Russian snowboarder. Biography Sofya was born in Moscow. Cheryl Maas
Cheryl Maas (born 28 September 1984) is a Dutch snowboarder, who competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, finishing 11th at the halfpipe. She also competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, finishing 20th in slopestyle and in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang where she finished 23rd in slopestyle and 20th in big air. Šárka Pančochová (, born 1 November 1990) is a Czech snowboarder. She started snowboarding in 2002 at her local mountains in Moravia, Czech Republic. Career Šárka got her first sponsor in the 2005/06 season. In 2007/2008 at the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour, Pančochová won the 3Star Quiksilver Snowjam and the Protest and O2 World Rookie fests. In the same season, she won the title of FIS Junior World Champion in Valmalenco, Italy.
