Snap''!'' (formerly Build Your Own Blocks) is a free block-based List of educational programming languages, educational graphical programming language and online community. Snap allows students to explore, create, and remix interactive animations, games, stories, and more, while learning about mathematical and computational ideas. While inspired by Scratch (programming language), Scratch, Snap''!'' has many advanced features. The Snap''!'' editor, and programs created in it, are web applications that run in the browser (like Scratch (programming language), Scratch) without requiring Installation (computer programs), installation. It is built on top of ''Morphic.js'', a Morphic (software), Morphic GUI, written by Jens Mönig as 'middle layer' between Snap! itself and 'bare' JavaScript. Brian Harvey (lecturer)
Brian Keith Harvey (born 1949) is a former Lecturer SOE of computer science at University of California, Berkeley. He and his students developed an educational programming language named UCBLogo which is free and open-source software, a dialect of the language Logo, as an interpreter, for learners. He now works on Snap!. Education He received his B.S. in mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 1969, a M.S. in computer science, Stanford University, 1975, and a Ph.D. in science and mathematics education, University of California, Berkeley, 1985. He also received a M.A. in clinical psychology, New College of California, 1990. SNAP! is a German Eurodance group formed in 1989 by producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. The act has undergone several lineup changes over the years, featuring American singers, songwriters, and rappers such as Thea Austin, Turbo B, Niki Haris, and Penny Ford. Alonzo Church
Alonzo Church (June 14, 1903 – August 11, 1995) was an American computer scientist, mathematician, logician, and philosopher who made major contributions to mathematical logic and the foundations of theoretical computer science. He is best known for the lambda calculus, the Church–Turing thesis, proving the unsolvability of the ''Entscheidungsproblem'' ("decision problem"), the Frege–Church ontology, and the Church–Rosser theorem. Metaprogramming is a computer programming technique in which computer programs have the ability to treat other programs as their data. It means that a program can be designed to read, generate, analyse, or transform other programs, and even modify itself, while running. Prototype-based programming is a style of object-oriented programming in which behavior reuse (known as inheritance) is performed via a process of reusing existing objects that serve as prototypes. This model can also be known as ''prototypal'', ''prototype-oriented,'' ''classless'', or ''instance-based'' programming. In a given programming language design, a first-class citizen is an entity which supports all the operations generally available to other entities. These operations typically include being passed as an argument, returned from a function, and assigned to a variable.
