Snake And Mongoose
''Snake & Mongoose'' is a 2013 American sports drama film directed by Wayne Holloway, starring Jesse Williams and Richard Blake as drag racers Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen, respectively. The film received a limited theatrical release in 20 cities between August 9 and November 4, 2013. Anchor Bay Films acquired the home entertainment rights and the film was released through video on demand and digital download on March 4, 2014, and on DVD and Blu-ray on April 8, 2014. Premise The film tells the story of the rivalry between drag racing drivers Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen and their groundbreaking accomplishments in the world of drag racing. Roland Leong (born Honolulu, 1945) is an American drag racer, whose "Hawaiian" brand cars achieved many victories. He later went on to act as crew chief in Funny Cars races. Keith Black (June 25, 1926 – May 13, 1991) was an American producer of high performance drag racing engines, often used in Top Fuel and Tractor pulling applications. Racing Black first made a name for himself in the mid-1940s in boat racing. He set a world record in his second time out at Salton Sea. People liked his engines, and he quickly started a business out of his garage. He opened Keith Black Racing Engines in 1959. By 1961 his boat racing exploits included nearly 50 international and national records. Ed Donovan (1928–1989), commonly called "The Mole" (or "Pachy"), was an American racing engine and parts builder. Donovan developed the first all-aluminum-block hemi designed specifically for Top Fuel drag racing. He was posthumously inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2003.
