Smygehuk
Smygehuk is a harbour and fishing village at Smygehamn in Skåne, Sweden. It is most known for being the southernmost point of Sweden, and the entire Scandinavian Peninsula (55° 20' N). To the west of the harbour are Smygehuk Lighthouse and Smygehuk Hostel. A statue of a nude woman stands in the harbour. It was made by artist Axel Ebbe and installed in 1930. It is named ''Famntaget'' ("The Embrace"). Smygehuk Lighthouse
Smygehuk Lighthouse ( sv, Smygehuks fyr) is a lighthouse in Trelleborg Municipality in Sweden. It is situated approximately west of Smygehamn, and is high and constructed of iron. It was completed in 1883, and taken out of service in 1975 in favor of the offshore Kullagrundet Lighthouse. Following an initiative by Trelleborg Municipality, among others, it was relit in April 2001. Smygehuk Lighthouse is located at Smygehuk, near the southernmost tip of Sweden and the Scandinavian Peninsula. History The lighthouse originally was lit by paraffin oil, but this was soon replaced by electricity, and the lighthouse was fitted with a 1,000-watt Incandescent light bulb. Smygehamn is the southernmost locality situated in Trelleborg Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden (and thus Sweden's southernmost locality) with 1,278 inhabitants in 2010. Birgitte Caroline "Nena" von Schlebrügge (born January 8, 1941) is a Mexican-born Swedish and American fashion model from the 1950s and 1960s.
