Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana ( ; born 18 July 1996) is an Indian cricketer who represents the Indian women's national team. She plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women's Premier League (WPL). In domestic cricket, she represents the Maharashtra cricket team. In June 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awarded her 'the Best Women's International Cricketer' in BCCI awards. In December 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) awarded her with the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the best female cricketer of the year. Cricket At The Commonwealth Games
Cricket is an optional sport at the quadrennial Commonwealth Games. It first appeared at the 1998 Games, with a men's tournament seeing South Africa defeat Australia by 4 wickets in the final. Matches were played over 50 overs and had List A status rather than being full One Day Internationals. The sport returned to the Games' programme at the 2022 Games, with a women's tournament taking place. Matches were played under the Twenty20 format, with the tournament won by Australia. Gaby Hollis Lewis (born 27 March 2001) is an Irish international cricketer who made her senior debut for the Irish national team in July 2014, aged only 13. She made her Twenty20 International (T20I) debut later in the year, becoming the youngest to play at that level. The Women's Premier League (WPL) also known as TATA WPL due to sponsorship reasons, is an upcoming women's Twenty20 cricket franchise league in India. It is owned and operated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The first season will be played in March 2023 in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai with five franchises taking part.
