Smouha Sporting Club ( ar, نادي سموحة الرياضي), simply known as Smouha, is an Egyptian sports club based in Alexandria, Egypt. The club is mainly known for its professional football team, which currently plays in the Egyptian Premier League, the highest tier of the Egyptian football league system. History and ownership Smouha SC was founded on 29 December 1949, named after the club's first president & founder Joseph Smouha. Joseph Smouha was a Jewish textile manufacturer, philanthropist, and property developer and designer. Joseph Smouha was born on 1 January 1878 in Baghdad. Egyptian Arabic, locally known as Colloquial Egyptian ( ar, العامية المصرية, ), or simply Masri (also Masry) (), is the most widely spoken vernacular Arabic dialect in Egypt. Gamal Abdel Nasser Hussein, . (15 January 1918 – 28 September 1970) was an Egyptian politician who served as the second president of Egypt from 1954 until his death in 1970. Borg el-Arab ( ar, برج العرب, lit=the Arabic tower) is an industrial city in the governorate of Alexandria, Egypt. It is located about 52 kilometers south-west of Alexandria and some seven kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. North of Borg El Arab is the King Maryut resort and Lake Maryut. South of Borg El Arab is New Borg El Arab City. The city has an airport, Borg El Arab Airport, that serves nearly 250,000 passengers every year. Borg El Arab is widely considered an extension of the city of Alexandria. Fuad I ( ar, فؤاد الأول ''Fu’ād al-Awwal''; tr, I. Fuad or ; 26 March 1868 – 28 April 1936) was the Sultan and later King of Egypt and the Sudan. The ninth ruler of Egypt and Sudan from the Muhammad Ali dynasty, he became Sultan in 1917, succeeding his elder brother Hussein Kamel. He replaced the title of Sultan with King when the United Kingdom unilaterally declared Egyptian independence in 1922.
