Franklyn Farnum
Franklyn Farnum (born William Smith; June 5, 1878 – July 4, 1961) was an American character actor and Hollywood extra who appeared in at least 1,100 films. He was also cast in more films that won the Academy Award for Best Picture than any other performer in American film industry. He was also credited as Frank Farnum. Life and career Farnum was born in 1878 in Boston, Massachusetts, and became a vaudeville actor at the age of twelve. He was featured in a number of theatrical and musical productions by the time he entered silent films near the age of 40. His Broadway credits include ''Keep It Clean'' (1929), ''Ziegfeld 9 O'clock Frolic'' (1921), ''Ziegfeld Midnight Frolic'' (1921), and ''Somewhere Else'' (1913). Early years Alma Bennett was born Alma Long on April 9, 1904 in Seattle. She was educated in San Francisco. Percy Challenger (September 3, 1858 – July 23, 1932) was a film and theater actor in the United States. He appeared in dozens of films. He was born in England. He acted in and managed the eastern tour of Virginia Drew Prescott (Melbourne MacDowell)'s playlet ''Man of the People''. Challenger was a vaudeville actor. A 1911 performance in Chicago was reviewed by ''The Billboard'', reading, "Percy Challenger, an English entertainer, was first on the program, and although his act was rather odd, it seemed to take very well. Mr. Challenger's work as an elocutionist was very good". He won plaudits as a supporting actor in films. His performance in ''Flames of Chance'' (1918) was received as "clever" in a review in ''Variety''. Al Ferguson
Al Ferguson (19 April 1888 – 4 December 1971) was an Irish-born American film actor. Born in County Wexford, Ireland, he appeared in nearly 300 films between 1912 and 1956. Billed as Smoke Ferguson, by 1912 he was making Westerns for Selig Polyscope Company. In the 1920s he was the star, producer, and director for several low-budget Western films. He also appeared in some television Westerns in the 1950s. Ferguson died in Burbank, California. He is interred at Glendale's Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
