Smile was an American rock band. 20 Year Reunion Shows In February 2013, Scott Reeder, Michael Rosas, Aaron Sonnenberg, and Matt Fletcher reunited to play 3 shows in Southern California * The Casbah - San Diego, CA * Port Of Sound Record Shoppe - Costa Mesa, CA * The Troubadour - West Hollywood, CA In January 2014, Scott Reeder, Michael Rosas, and Aaron Sonnenberg reunited once more to play The Casbah 25th Anniversary. Background Rosas and Sonnenberg, who were both attending Woodbridge High School, formed Smile in 1992. After placing an advertisement in ''The Recycler'' for a drummer, they found Reeder, which completed the band's lineup for the next seven years as a trio. Encompassing genres of both grunge and psychedelic rock, they released their second record, called ''Resin''. Atlantic Recording Corporation (simply known as Atlantic Records) is an American record label founded in October 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson. Scott Reeder (drummer)
Scott Reeder is an American drummer who has been a member of Southern California stoner rock band Fu Manchu since 2002. Previously, he was a co-founder of the Orange County alternative rock band Smile. Reeder is known for his heavy drumming style, and refers to John Bonham of Led Zeppelin as one of his great influences. Reeder plays Ludwig Drums (often sporting psychedelic colors), Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads and uses Vic Firth drumsticks, as stated on his MySpace page. He has also been known to mix his Sabian cymbal setup with Zildjian cymbals. With more than 25 years of drumming experience, Reeder teaches drumming in Orange County, when not touring or recording with Fu Manchu. Maquee
''Maquee'' is an album by Smile. It was released by Atlantic on July 18, 1995. Background Smile had originally finished recording the album by September 1994,Borzillo, p. 18. and it was released under the San Diego-based label Headhunter. Their album caught the attention of Atlantic Records, and Smile was soon offered a contract. Upon signing with Atlantic, the trio quit their day jobs and began touring the country. Alongside some of the tour was the band "Inch", and Smile stayed on the road for nearly a year and a half promoting ''Maquee''. Lyrically, the album plays with themes of fatalism, revenge, and Gothicism. The name of the album came from Reeder's best buddy from Barstow, who had the nickname "Maquee".
