Smederevo Stadium ( sr, Стадион ФК Смедерево / Stadion FK Smederevo), known as Tvrđava ( sr-Cyrl, Тврђава, lit=Fortress), is a Soccer-specific stadium, football stadium in Smederevo, Serbia. It is currently used mostly for Association football, football matches and is the home ground of FK Smederevo 1924. The stadium has a seating capacity for 17,200 spectators. The stadium was previously known as Sartid Stadium ( sr, Стадион ФК Сартид / Stadion FK Sartid, link=no). History The stadium got its current appearance from its most recent reconstruction in 2000. Wales National Rugby League Team
The Wales national rugby league team represents Wales in international rugby league football matches. Currently the team is ranked 17th in the IRL World Rankings. The team was run under the auspices of the Rugby Football League, but an independent body, Wales Rugby League, now runs the team from Cardiff. Six Welsh players have been entered into the Rugby League Hall Of Fame. As with other Welsh national sporting teams, Wales strip has been primarily red. However, in the World Cup campaign in 2000 they wore a shirt featuring the Welsh flag, adding a touch of green and white. The team is known as "The Dragons" and so the team's logo on the shirt is a red dragon. Serbia National Rugby League Team
The Serbia national rugby league team represents Serbia in the sport of rugby league football. They have competed in international competition since 2003 under the administration of the Serbian Rugby League. They are coached by Englishman Darren Fisher, and captained by Stevan Stevanović. History 1950s–1960s Rugby League was first played in Serbia in 1953 when it was introduced by Dragan Marsicevic, secretary of the Yugoslav Sport Association. Two French teams toured later that year, and in 1954 the clubs Partizan and Radnički were formed. These clubs played their first match on 26 April 1954. In 1961 a Yugoslav Rugby League team played its only game against a French Select XIII team in Banja Luka. The French team won 13–0. 2009 European Cup
The 2009 European Cup, known as the rugbyleague.com European Cup due to sponsorship, was a rugby league football tournament. The revamped European Cup 2009 involved six teams competing in two groups of three. Participating teams were: Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Serbia, Lebanon and Italy. Russia were scheduled to take part in the competition, but were forced to pull out due to board restructuring within the Russian Rugby League Federation.
