Sludgeworth (EP)
Sludgeworth is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois, United States, consisting of Dan Vapid, Dan Schafer (vocals), Adam White (guitar), Dave McClean (guitar), Mike Hootenstrat (bass), and Brian Vermin (drums). The band was formed in 1989 as a side project from Screeching Weasel, a band that Dan and Brian were in. Later that year, the two decided to leave Screeching Weasel to focus full-time on Sludgeworth. The band released their first EP in 1990, followed by a full-length album in 1991. That same year, Dan Schafer joined a resurrected Screeching Weasel. Sludgeworth announced their split in late 1992. The breakup was due to musical differences between Schafer and the other members, with the former wanting to continue playing pop punk and the others wanting to not be restricted by that definition. Riot Fest is an annual three-day punk rock music festival based in Chicago, Illinois, at Douglass Park. It is known for booking reunions, guest performances, and full album performances. Riot Fest remains one of the largest independently owned music festivals in the United States. History Riot Fest was established in Chicago in 2005 by Mike Petryshyn and Sean McKeough, the latter who also co-produced Chicago's Motoblot annual motorcycle rally. Insubordination Records
Insubordination is the act of willfully disobeying a lawful order of one's superior. It is generally a punishable offense in hierarchical organizations such as the armed forces, which depend on people lower in the chain of command obeying orders. Military Insubordination is when a service member willfully disobeys the lawful orders of a superior officer. Ethyline was an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois consisting of Matt Bessemer (vocals), Adam White (guitar), Dave McClean (guitar), Mike Hootenstrat (bass), and Brian Vermin/ George Rice (drums). The band was formed by members of the band Sludgeworth, but chose a more melodic sound as demonstrated on their debut album, Jitters. Their music reached a European audience by way of the German released compilation albuPiranha - Music That Bites! Vol.2on the record label Virgin. The song 'Wings' was featured on this compilation and the filMastermindswith Patrick Stewart and has since gone some way to leave a legacy for the band. After the release of their debut album Jitters they toured Europe in September 1999 visiting the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Dan Schafer (born January 18, 1970), better known by his stage name Dan Vapid, is a punk rock musician from Chicago, Illinois, United States. He is best known for his participation in Screeching Weasel, The Riverdales, The Methadones, and various other punk rock/pop punk bands. His current band is Dan Vapid and the Cheats. Generation Waste Schafer's first band was the hardcore punk band Generation Waste, formed in 1985. They were around for 4 years and recorded one album, which remains unreleased. He was the vocalist and the other band members were Ted Domurat (later of Gear) on guitar, Frank Ciampi (later of Tension Wire, Devastation, Mindfunk) on bass and Dave Juarez on drums. Juarez was later replaced by Pat Buckley (later of Gear, The Vindictives (as "P.J. Parti")).
