Arnoldstein ( sl, Podklošter, it, Oristagno) is a market town in the district of Villach-Land in the Austrian state of Carinthia. Geography Location Arnoldstein is located at Austria's southern border between the Carnic Alps and the Karawanken mountain range, near the confluence of the Gailitz (Slovene: ''Ziljica'', Italian: ''Slizza'') and the Gail River (Slovene: ''Zilja'', Italian: ''Zeglia''). Gail ( sl, Zilja, it, Zeglia) is the name of a river in southern Austria, the largest right tributary of the Drava. Its drainage basin is . Etymology The name ''Gail'' developed from Old High German ''Gîla'', in turn from the form ''*Gīla'' (which was also the source of the Slovene name ''Zilja''). It is likely that the name is of substrate origin, predating the Roman presence in the area. Sella Nevea
Sella Nevea ( fur, Nevee, german: Neveasattel, sl, Na Žlebeh), at an altitude of , is a high mountain pass in the Julian Alps, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeast Italy. Sella Nevea also lends its name to a ''frazione'' of the Chiusaforte municipality and the nearby Kanin-Sella Nevea Ski Resort. Geography The mountain pass is located between the Montasio massif in the north and Mt. Kanin in the south, in the Province of Udine near the border with Slovenia. The pass road connects Chiusaforte via the steep Raccolana valley in the southwest with Cave del Predil and Tarvisio in the north. Tarvisio
Tarvisio (German and fur, Tarvis, sl, Trbiž) is a comune in the northeastern part of the autonomous Friuli Venezia Giulia region in Italy. Geography The town is in the Canal Valley (''Val Canale'') between the Carnic Alps and Karawanks ranges in the north and the Julian Alps in the south.
