Slimer (novel)
Slimer, originally referred to as "Onionhead" and sometimes "the Mean Green Ghost", is a character from the Ghostbusters (franchise), ''Ghostbusters'' franchise. He appears in the films ''Ghostbusters'' (1984), ''Ghostbusters II'' (1989), and the remake ''Ghostbusters (2016 film), Ghostbusters'' (2016), in the animated television series: ''The Real Ghostbusters'', ''Slimer!'' and ''Extreme Ghostbusters'', and in the video games: ''Ghostbusters: The Video Game'' (2009), ''Beeline (software company), Beeline's Ghostbusters'' (2013) and ''Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed'' (2022). Slimer was voiced by Ivan Reitman and Adam Ray (comedian), Adam Ray in the films and by Frank Welker in the animated series. In ''The Real Ghostbusters'', he is the Ghostbusters' mascot and friend (unlike the films, where he is a ghost who needs to be busted). The ''Ghostbusters'' franchise consists of American supernatural horror-comedies, based on an original concept created by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis in 1984. The plot ostensibly centers around a group of eccentric New York City scientists who investigate, encounter, and capture ghosts, paranormal manifestations, demigods and demons. The franchise expanded with licensed action figures, books, comic books, video games, television series, theme park attractions, and other original ''Ghostbusters''-themed products. Setting Technology The Ghostbusters use a specialized set of equipment in the 1984 film, and all subsequent ''Ghostbusters'' fiction includes similar equipment to aid in the capture and containment of ghosts. In addition to the main technology used in the series, a script draft for ''Ghostbusters III'' includes the Ghostbusters developing a machine to transport themselves to an alternate Manhattan to save New York. Willow (film)
''Willow'' is a 1988 American high fantasy adventure film directed by Ron Howard and produced by Nigel Wooll. The film was executive produced by George Lucas and written by Bob Dolman from a story by Lucas. The film stars Warwick Davis, Joanne Whalley, Val Kilmer, and Jean Marsh. Davis portrays the title character, an aspiring magician who teams up with a disaffected warrior (Kilmer) to protect a baby from an evil queen (Marsh). Lucas conceived the idea for the film in 1972, approaching Howard to direct during the post-production phase of '' Cocoon'' in 1985. Bob Dolman was brought in to write the screenplay, coming up with seven drafts before finishing in late 1986. It was then set up at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and principal photography began in April 1987, finishing the following October.
