Sliedrecht Baanhoek is a railway station, in Sliedrecht, Netherlands. History The station opened on 16 July 1885, but was closed on 15 May 1938. The station was reopened on 11 December 2011. The station lies on the MerwedeLingelijn (Dordrecht – Geldermalsen) and is located between Dordrecht Stadspolders railway station, Dordrecht Stadspolders and Sliedrecht railway station, Sliedrecht. Sliedrecht () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of of which is covered by water. Sliedrecht is known for the many large dredging companies (including Boskalis and IHC Merwede) that come from it. The Dredging Festival takes place in Sliedrecht every two years. The first IKEA store in the Netherlands opened in Sliedrecht in 1978, but it closed in 2006. MerwedeLingelijn
MerwedeLingelijn is the name of the train service in the Netherlands between Geldermalsen and Dordrecht, on the western part of the Elst–Dordrecht railway. Train services were operated by Arriva until 8 Dec 2018, when Qbuzz took over. Since 5 September 2011 (original schedule was 2009) there is a quarter-hourly train service between Dordrecht and Gorinchem. In order for this, the line between Dordrecht and Dordrecht Stadspolders was double tracked, and there is also a passing track built at Boven Hardinxveld, so that trains can pass each other. Qbuzz uses seven train sets, the electric version of the Spurt, the same trains Arriva uses since late 2006 in Groningen and Friesland. These trains have been deployed since 14 September 2008, and have replaced the old Mat '64 trains. In 2011, three additional Spurt-trains were delivered to allow for the increased frequency. Dordrecht Stadspolders is a railway station in Dordrecht, Netherlands. The station is located on the MerwedeLingelijn between Dordrecht and Geldermalsen (part of the Elst–Dordrecht railway). It was opened on 27 May 1990 and initially had only one track. Arriva has operated the service since December 2006, but Qbuzz took over services on 9 December 2018. Papendrecht () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, at the crossing of the River Beneden Merwede and the Noord River. The municipality had a population of in and covers an area of of which is water.
