Sleeveface
Sleeveface is an internet phenomenon wherein one or more persons obscure or augment body parts with record sleeve(s), causing an illusion. Sleeveface has become popular on social networking sites. The precise origin of the concept is unknown. A collection of photographs was posted online aWaxidermy.comin early 2006, though earlier examples of 'Sleevefacing' include a Mad Magazine cover and a sketch on ''The Adam and Joe Show'' with Gary Numan holding a record sleeve to his face. Other cases include John Hiatt's 1979 ''Slug Line'' album on which he is holding a sleeve (showing his face) in front of his face. and the back of the 1982 album '' Picture This'' by Huey Lewis and the News, where Huey is holding the front side of the album (showing his face) in front of his face. Record Sleeve
A record sleeve is the outer covering of a vinyl record. Alternative terms are ''dust sleeve'', ''album liner'' and ''liner''. The term is also used to denominate the outermost cardboard covering of a record, i.e. the ''record jacket'' or ''album jacket''. The record jacket is extensively used to design and market a recording, as well as to additionally display general information on the record as artist name, titles list, title length etc. if no opening presents a readable label. The terms liner notes, ''sleeve notes'' are used to refer to this label, jacket information. Sleeves were originally printed on simple cardboard. British manufacturers Garrod and Lofthouse patented a "wrap around" sleeve design commonly seen on LPs in the 1960s. John Hiatt
John Robert Hiatt (born August 20, 1952) is an American singer-songwriter. He has played a variety of musical styles on his albums, including new wave, blues, and country. Hiatt has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and has been awarded a variety of other distinctions in the music industry. Hiatt was working as a songwriter for Tree International, a record label in Nashville, Tennessee, when his song " Sure As I'm Sittin' Here" was covered by Three Dog Night. ''Picture This'' is the second album by American rock music, rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released in 1982. The album brought the band their first top-ten hit, "Do You Believe in Love". It remained on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' albums chart for 35 weeks and peaked at number 7. Background The band produced the album themselves along with their manager, Bob Brown. Several outside tunes were included on the album. One of these tunes was "Do You Believe in Love", written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange.
