Slaves For Life
''Slaves for Life'' is the debut album by Israeli folk/progressive metal band Amaseffer, released on 6 June 2008 in Israel and 24 June 2008 worldwide, by InsideOut Music. The album is the first in a trilogy of albums, telling the Old Testament's story of the Exodus, from the Hebrew slavery period in ancient Egypt, through the years in the desert, and up to the entrance of the twelve tribes of Israel to the promised land of Canaan (later Israel). The first in the trilogy, the album tells the story of the events starting with the Hebrews slavery, through the birth of Moses and ends with the ten plagues of Egypt. Additional vocals were recorded by Kobi Farhi of Orphaned Land, Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy and Yotam Avni of Prey for Nothing. Although the album's sound mostly conside ...

Amaseffer
Amaseffer was an Israeli progressive metal band which was formed in 2004 in Tel Aviv by drummer and percussionist Erez Yohanan, and guitarist Yuval Kramer. A year later, a second guitarist Hanan Avramovich joined and completed the line-up. The band's music genre is considered progressive metal, but it contains a mixture of rock, metal, world music and Middle Eastern touches. History ''Slaves for Life'' (2004–2008) Amaseffer was formed with the idea of a historical trilogy in mind - to tell the Old Testament's story of the Exodus, from the Hebrew slavery period in ancient Egypt, through the years in the desert, and up to the entrance of the twelve tribes of Israel to the promised land of Canaan (later Israel). The first album of the trilogy, ''Slaves for Life' ...

Twelve Tribes Of Israel
The Twelve Tribes of Israel ( he, שִׁבְטֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל, translit=Šīḇṭēy Yīsrāʾēl, lit=Tribes of Israel) are, according to Hebrew scriptures, the descendants of the biblical patriarch Jacob, also known as Israel, through his twelve sons through his wives, Leah and Rachel, and his concubines, Bilhah and Zilpah, who collectively form the Israelite nation. In modern scholarship, there is skepticism as to whether there ever were twelve Israelite tribes, with the use of the number 12 thought more likely to signify a symbolic tradition as part of a national founding myth. Biblical narrative Genealogy Jacob, later called Israel, was the second-born son of Isaac and Rebecca, the younger twin brother of Esau, and the grandson of Abraham and Sarah. According to biblical texts, he was chosen by God to be the patriarch of the Israelite nation. From what is known of Jacob, he had two wives, sisters Leah and Rachel, and two concubines, Bilhah and Zilpah, by w ...
