Slaughterhouse was an American Hip hop music, hip hop supergroup (music), supergroup consisting of rappers Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce da 5'9". They released two studio albums as a group: ''Slaughterhouse (Slaughterhouse album), Slaughterhouse'' (2009) independently and ''Welcome to: Our House'' (2012) under Shady Records, Shady and Interscope Records. History 2008: Formation The group formed in late 2008 after Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5'9", and Joe Budden appeared on the song "Slaughterhouse" from Joe Budden's album ''Halfway House (album), Halfway House''. They decided to form a group and named the group after the song. The members of Slaughterhouse all share some degree of controversy from their past in the music industry. "The One" is the debut single by Slaughterhouse, a hip hop supergroup consisting of rappers Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9". It was released on July 2, 2009 and was produced by DJ Khalil. The song is from the group's self-titled debut album. The beat samples heavily from Boogie Down Productions' "I'm Still #1" and Lenny Kravitz's " Fly Away". Music video A music video for the song was directed by Rik Cordero. A behind the scenes footage from the music video, which features commentary from Slaughterhouse and the director, was leaked on Cordero'Three/21 Mediawebsite on June 23, 2009. He is considered one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time. Justin Gregory Smith (born January 8, 1978), known professionally as Just Blaze, is an American hip hop record producer and DJ. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Blaze attended Rutgers University for three years before dropping out to pursue his musical career. It was released on August 19, 2012, as a warm up to their second studio album '' Welcome to: Our House'' with a release of August 28, 2012. The mixtape is hosted by DJ Drama. Background On July 7, 2012, Royce announced in an interview with Jenny Boom Boom that the group would release a pre-album mixtape around the first week of August. Joe Budden revealed via Twitter that the mixtape is called ''On the House'' and will be hosted by DJ Drama. A promotional video for the mixtape was released on August 6, 2012, and previewed a song called "See Dead People".
