Slamboree 1996
Slamboree (1996) was the fourth Slamboree professional wrestling pay-per-view List of NWA/WCW closed-circuit events and pay-per-view events, event produced by World Championship Wrestling (WCW). The event took place on May 19, 1996 from the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The key feature of the event was a WCW tournaments#Lord Of The Ring Tournament (1996), Lord of the Ring tournament, in which wrestlers were randomly paired in Professional wrestling tag team match types, Lethal Lottery tag team matches to qualify for a Battle royal (professional wrestling)#Battlebowl, Battlebowl battle royal and the winner of that battle royal would earn a title shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Diamond Dallas Page won the Battlebowl and earned the title of the Lord of the Ring. World Championship Wrestling, Inc. (WCW) was an American professional wrestling promotion founded by Ted Turner in 1988, after Turner Broadcasting System, through a subsidiary named Universal Wrestling Corporation, purchased the assets of National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) territory Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP) (which had aired its programming on TBS).
