Nils Sköld
Lieutenant General Nils Gunnar Sköld (23May 192117March 1996) was a Swedish Army officer. He served as Commanding General of the Eastern Military District and Commandant General in Stockholm from 1974 to 1976 and as Chief of the Army from 1976 to 1984. Early life Sköld was born on 23 May 1921 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of the politician and former Minister for Defence Per Edvin Sköld and his wife Edit (née Persson). He was also brother to the Marshal of the Realm Per Sköld and the first female National Antiquarian Margareta Biörnstad. Career Sköld was commissioned as an officer in 1943 and attended the Royal Swedish Army Staff College from 1948 to 1950. Sköld became a captain of the General Staff in 1954 and served in the Army Staff's Organization Department the same year. Yngve Sköld
Karl Yngve Sköld (; 29 April 1899 – 6 December 1992) was a Swedish composer, pianist and organist. As well as writing orchestral, solo and chamber music and giving public concerts, he also worked for the Swedish Film industry. Life He was born in Vallby, Södermanland County, Sweden. His father, a cantor and college teacher, died when Yngve was ten years old. He studied piano with Richard Andersson and attended the Royal College of Music, Stockholm from 1915 to 1918 where he learnt composition and counterpoint with Harald Fryklöf. During his teens, his musical talent both as composer and pianist became apparent; his 1916 piano trio, first symphony (opus 3, 1915) and first piano concerto (opus 7, 1917) were among a number of works composed in this period. Kristian Sköld (26 September 1911 – 15 May 1988) was a Swedish chess player, four-time Swedish Chess Championship winner (1949, 1950, 1959, 1963). Biography From the late 1940s to the mid 1960s, Kristian Sköld was one of Sweden's leading chess players. Linus Alexander Sköld (born 1983) is a Swedish politician, teacher and member of the Riksdag, the national legislature. A member of the Social Democratic Party, he has represented Norrbotten County since January 2019. He had previously been a substitute member of the Riksdag four times: September 2015 to April 2016 (for Sven-Erik Bucht]); February 2017 to August 2017 (for Hannah Bergstedt); April 2018 to June 2018 (for Hannah Bergstedt); and September 2018 to January 2019 (for Sven-Erik Bucht). HSwMS Sköld
''HSwMS Sköld'' was a small river monitor built for the Swedish Royal Skerry Artillery in the late 1860s. She was equipped with a dual propulsion system, both hand and steam-driven, although the hand-driven portion was removed early in the ship's career due to complaints from the crew. The ship was put into reserve in 1890 and used as a gunnery target in 1907. Design and description In 1865 the Navy Minister, Baltzar J. van Platen, persuaded the Riksdag of the Estates to establish the Royal Skerry Artillery as part of the Swedish Army to defend the inner Swedish waters and protect the flanks of Swedish fortresses. This force was to be equipped with ten small monitors to operate in shallow waters that could navigate the Göta Canal system that linked Gothenburg ( sv, Göteborg) on the west coast to Söderköping on the Baltic Sea. Hannes Sköld
Johannes (''Hannes'') Evelinus Sköld (20 September 1886 – 14 September 1930) was a Swedish socialist and anti-militarist. Sköld was also a linguist, a writer and a poet. He also wrote songs. Johannes Sköld was born in Heby. Large parts of his childhood was spent in China, as his father was a missionary there. His family returned to Sweden in 1897 and settled in the city of Norrköping, where he became friends with Ture Nerman. After Gymnasia high school he moved to Gothenburg to study at the University. In Gothenburg, Hannes Sköld got to know Zeth Höglund and became active with him in the left wing of the workers’ movement. As a young bohemian, Hannes Sköld traveled around Europe and lived in Paris and Copenhagen while working as a correspondent for different Swedish newspapers. Johan Sköld (born 28 February 1975) is a Swedish professional golfer. Sköld turned professional in 1996 and secured his European Tour card at the 1996 Qualifying School, but would struggle to stay up. He returned to the 2000 European Tour after an eighth place in the Challenge Tour Grand Final in Cuba, again after winning the 2001 European Tour Qualifying School, and later qualified for the 2005 European Tour. Sköld played a total of 133 events on the European Tour between 1997 and 2009, earning over half a million euro.
