Skånevikfjorden
Skånevikfjorden is a fjord in Norway. The long fjord runs through Etne and Kvinnherad municipalities in Vestland county and in Vindafjord municipality in Rogaland county. The fjord is fed by several smaller fjords such as the Åkrafjorden, Etnefjorden, and Matersfjorden and it flows to the southwest into the main Hardangerfjorden. Some villages along the fjord include Utåker and Skånevik. Ã…krafjorden
Åkrafjorden is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Etne and Kvinnherad. The long fjord reaches a maximum depth of . The fjord flows from the southern part of the Folgefonna National Park, draining the huge Folgefonna glacier. The fjord then flows to the southwest before emptying into the Skånevikfjorden near the village of Utåker. The Langfossen waterfall runs down the steep cliffs on the south side of the fjord, just west of Fjæra. The village of Fjæra lies at the innermost end of the Åkrafjorden and the village of Åkra lies on the northern shore of the fjord, about mid-way through the fjord. The European route E134 highway runs along the southern shore of the fjord, and due to the steep mountainsides along the fjord, there are several long tunnels as part of the E134 highway that go through the mountains rather than along the shore. Skånevik (village)
Skånevik is a village in Etne municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The village is located along the Skånevikfjorden, near the entrance to the Åkrafjorden. The village lies across the fjord from the village of Utåker in neighboring Kvinnherad municipality. The municipal centre of Etnesjøen lies about straight south across a mountain, although one must drive about around the mountain to get there. The village has a population (2019) of 571 and a population density of . Historically, the village was the administrative centre of the old municipality of Skånevik which existed until 1965. Skånevik Church was the main church for the old municipality, and it is still in use in the village today. The village is a transportation hub for the area since it is a regular port of call for a cross-fjord ferry route. The ferry goes from Skånevik to Utåker to Sunde, Matre, Sunde i Matre. Etnefjorden
Etnefjorden is a fjord on the border between Vestland and Rogaland counties in Norway. The majority of the fjord lies in the municipality of Etne, but a small part of it also lies in the neighboring municipality of Vindafjord in Rogaland county. Kvinnherad is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnhordland, along the Hardangerfjorden. The municipality was the 5th in size in former Hordaland county. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rosendal. Halsnøy
Halsnøya or Halsnøy is an island in Kvinnherad municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies between the Hardangerfjorden and Skånevikfjorden. The island has about 2,300 inhabitants (2008) and it is the most populated island in Kvinnherad municipality. Prior to 2008, it was the most populated island in Norway without a direct connection to land, but the Halsnøy Tunnel opened that year, finally connecting it to the mainland by road. There is a regular ferry connection from southern Halsnøy to the neighboring islands of Fjelbergøya and Borgundøya, located just south of Halsnøy. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. Borgundøya or Borgundøy is an island in Kvinnherad municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies in the Hardangerfjorden, immediately south of the island of Fjelbergøya. Fjelbergøya
Fjelbergøya is an island in Kvinnherad Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies on the south side of the Hardangerfjorden, between the islands of Borgundøya (to the south) and Halsnøya (to the northeast). These three neighboring islands are located very close together, only a few hundred meters separate them at certain points. Historically, this island was the centre of the old municipality of Fjelberg. Today, the islands of Fjelbergøya and Borgundøya are still often referred to as ''Fjelberg''. The island is only accessible by the sea, either using ferries or personal boats.
